- Transcribed from the OCR of the dated scan, English recto pages only. This is the MIDDLE recension (the seven letters listed by Eusebius, H.E. iii. 36) — Lake's own introduction (vol. I, pp. 166-169) calls this the "short recension" and explicitly notes that Lightfoot and most later scholarship instead call it the "middle recension," reserving "short recension" for the abridged 3-letter Syriac (Curetonian) text; this build follows the modern (Lightfoot/majority) naming to avoid ambiguity. Excludes the interpolated "long recension" (spurious additional epistles and interpolated text of the authentic seven) and the Curetonian Syriac abridgment.
